Jennifer Honda - Representative, Region 6

I grew up in Illinois and Florida, but have since lived in Tennessee, Connecticut, Louisiana, California, and now St. George, Utah!  I found OT after becoming a special education teacher and decided to go back to school for my OTD.  My specialty area is the NICU and Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing.  I spend quite a bit of time in Kenya, working in rural communities providing education and advocacy supports focusing on caregivers of children with CP, prenatal/postnatal care, and neonatal supports.  I have had the opportunity to guest lecture in the local KenyanOT programs and facilitate community involvement with OT students and practitioners.  I am an adjunct instructor in a COTA to MSOT bridge program and associate faculty in an Infant and Early Childhood Development PhD program.  I moved to Utah in Feb 2023 with my pup, Rig, to work at Utah Tech University as an assistant professor in their developing OTD program.   I spend most of my free time in nature or skydiving, but also enjoy anything hockey related and proudly cheer on the Tampa Bay Lightning!  I’m excited to be in Utah and to be a part of UOTA!
