Sheila Longpré - President Elect
Sheila is the Chair, Program Director, and Associate Professor of the Utah Tech University Occupational Therapy Doctoral program in St. George, Utah. She has been an occupational therapist for twenty-four years practicing as a clinician and academician. Sheila focuses on working with individuals across the lifespan which includes application specifically related to occupational therapy practice in oncology. She has worked developing occupational therapy services at two of the leading cancer centers in the nation and has presented locally, nationally, and internationally on the topic. In addition, she has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters related to the topic area and continues to engage in research regarding the role of occupational therapy in oncology across the lifespan. Furthermore, she has devoted her career to program development in hospitals and academic settings. She has mentored several doctoral students and clinicians with an emphasis in oncology and academia. Sheila currently serves as an abstract reviewer for the American Occupational Therapy Association and is the occupational therapy representative for the Michigan Cancer Consortium.
