Please contact Travis Chamberlain with any concerns at Travis.Chamberlain@Utah.edu. \n  \nIn-person on Wednesday & Thursday\, January 28 & 29\, 2026 \n at Weber Innovations High School\, Ogden\, UT \nThis MOVE Basic Provider Training is a two-day comprehensive (12 contact hours)\, certificated program specifically designed for occupational and physical therapy practitioners working with individuals with disabilities in schools or the community. The MOVE program provides opportunities for individuals to increase mobility skills in sitting\, standing\, walking\, and transitioning while participating in activities of daily living. \n \n \nCourse Objectives: Participants will learn the… \n\nPurpose\, principles\, and philosophy behind the MOVE Program\nSix steps of MOVE\nImportance of using the Top-Down Motor Milestone Test (TDMMT) and data collection\nHow to complete the MOVE Assessment Profile\nUse of equipment in the MOVE program\nMOVE goal setting\n\n  \nMOVE Training Agenda \n\n\n\nDay 1: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm \n\nIntroductions to instructors and MOVE\nStep One- Testing\nStep Two- Goal Setting\nLunch- 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm (on your own)\nMOVE Video\nStep Three- Task Analysis/Planning Activities\nTeam completion of assessment profile (Steps 1-3)\nMOVE Equipment\n\n\nDay 2: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm \n\nStep Four- Measuring Prompts\nStep Five- Prompting Review\nTeam completion of assessment profile (Steps 4-5)\nLunch- 12:00-1:00 (on your own)\nEquipment Demonstrations\nStep Six- Teaching the Skills\nPost Test/ Registration Form (Yellow Form)/ Evaluation (Green Form)\n\n\n\n\n\n** There will be additional morning and afternoon breaks on both days ** \nCourse Instructors \nKatie Madigan has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College. She has been with the Center for Disability Services since 1996. She began her career at the Center providing services to infants and preschoolers through the Early Intervention Program before moving to Clover Patch Preschool. Katie has been a MOVE International Trainer since 2014. \n  \n  \n  \nGillian Reid has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from SUNY Albany and AAS Occupational Therapy Assistant from Maria College. She has been working at the Center for Disability Services since 2008 across the preschool\, school aged\, and adult programs. Gillian was trained as a MOVE International Trainer in 2016. She is the MOVE Coordinator for the Kevin G Langan School in Albany and both Glenville and Albany Clover Patch Preschool programs. Gillian is a National trainer for MOVE International. \n  \n  \n  \nRegistration \nSign up today to get the early bird pricing and save 20%.  Registration will remain open until capacity is reached. \n  \nHow can I include my physical therapy counterpart? \nSince the MOVE program emphasizes close collaboration between therapy providers\, occupational therapy practitioners are encouraged to include their physical therapy colleagues in this training. A UOTA member may purchase one physical therapy (PT or PTA) registration at the current UOTA member price when purchasing their registration. \n  \nCan occupational therapy students attend? \nCurrent occupational therapy students who are attending an OTA or entry-level OT program may attend this training at the student rate.
